Open DWG and DXF files, draft with the commands you already know, place sockets, lights and doors, and get a priced bill of quantities and a scaled PDF – without installing anything.
Works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari · Your drawings autosave to your account · Open source (GPL-3.0)
MemeCAD covers the everyday 2D work that most AutoCAD seats are actually used for – and adds counting, which AutoCAD leaves to spreadsheets.
Lay out sockets, switches, lights, data and smoke detectors on a client's floor plan. Get counts per room, cable lengths per circuit layer and a priced bill of quantities.
Open the architect's DWG, trace rooms and walls, hatch the floors and get areas, wall surfaces and volumes for your quote – then export CSV to your spreadsheet.
Draw plans to scale with doors, windows, sanitary ware and furniture symbols, dimension them and plot a clean PDF for the client.
Facility managers, landlords, surveyors, makers: view, mark up, measure and print DWG/DXF files without a licence. Export DXF for laser cutters and CNC.
Learn real CAD commands (L, TR, F, H, DLI…) in a tool that behaves like the AutoCAD you'll meet at work – for free, in any browser.
Every drawing autosaves to your account with version history and tabs. Open it on another computer and carry on.
The feature set of a professional 2D drafting package, running as a web page.
Lines, polylines, rectangles, polygons, circles, arcs, ellipses, text and hatches. Trim, extend, fillet, chamfer, offset, array, stretch, join, break, mirror, match properties. Grips, osnaps, polar tracking, typed coordinates.
Reads DWG (R13–2018) and DXF in the browser; writes DXF that AutoCAD, BricsCAD, LibreCAD and DraftSight open, DWG through the companion server, and vector PDF to scale on any paper size.
Every symbol you place is counted and priced. Lengths per layer for cables and pipes, wall surfaces and volumes, hatched areas for finishes, counts per room, CSV export or a schedule table in the drawing.
Aligned, linear, radius and diameter dimensions with configurable precision. Layers with colours, lock, hide and ISO linetypes (dashed, hidden, center…). True colour and the full ACI palette.
Drawings save themselves a couple of seconds after each edit, keep a version history you can restore from, and work offline until you're back online.
Cyrillic, Greek, CJK and other text survives the trip from old DWG files through the editor to the PDF, with the font embedded.
Type the commands you know – they just work. Enter or Space runs them, Enter repeats the last one, Esc cancels.
Plus @dx,dy, @len<angle and direct distance entry, F3 osnap, F8 ortho, F10 polar, Ctrl+C/V between drawings.
While MemeCAD is in early access every feature is free, including cloud saving, DWG export and PDF plotting. Read what we promise →
Yes. During early access there is one plan, it costs nothing and it includes everything. We will tell every account holder well in advance if that changes, and exporting your drawings (DXF, PDF, CSV) will always stay free.
MemeCAD reads DWG R13 to 2018 and DXF R12 to 2018 directly in the browser. Lines, polylines, arcs, circles, ellipses, splines, text, blocks with attributes, dimensions and hatches come through; 3D solids, images and tables are skipped and listed so you know what's missing.
It is 2D only, has no paper-space layouts, xrefs or scripting, and it runs in a browser tab instead of a 2 GB install. In exchange it counts and prices what you draw. The comparison page has the full feature-by-feature table.
In your own account (Firebase), compressed and versioned. The editor also keeps a local backup in your browser so a crash or lost connection does not lose work. You can download DXF at any time.
Yes – GPL-3.0, because the DWG reader (LibreDWG) is GPL. You can self-host it; the repository has Docker, Railway and Vercel configurations.
